Happy new year community!
We are grateful for another opportunity to show up for the organizers protecting our food and agricultural systems through climate, land and labor justice.
As movement accountable funders, we are constantly listening to grantees and organizers on the ground to assess their needs and identify the best ways we can support their work. And with the current climate (political and environmental) we are fortifying ourselves to respond to emergent crises and needs of the communities that we hold near to our hearts.
We have some exciting and important announcements that we’ll be sharing over the next few weeks, including a new grantmaking initiative, changes to our primary grantmaking program, Wildseeds Grants, and innovative opportunities for funders to increase their support to our movements.
One key update: After listening to community partners, we have decided to shift this year’s Grantmaking to an invite-only process. This, we feel, is in alignment with our practice of responsiveness and accountability. We aspire to connect to the many incredible organizers and organizations that have been on our radar for quite some time. For those of you who have been doing important and innovative movement building and narrative work, we are talking about you. We see you, we treasure you, and we look forward to the many ways we might connect with you throughout 2025.
As we’ve mentioned, more updates are forthcoming, beginning with a special grantmaking collaboration that we are excited to share next week! In the meantime, please remain connected to us on social media, and sign up for our newsletter to stay on top of future news.
In solidarity,
Esperanza, Shavaun and Sabrina
